The 2-Day Zagora Desert Tour from Marrakech is designed for travelers with limited time in Morocco who still wish to cross the High Atlas Mountains, explore ancient mudbrick kasbahs, ride a camel at sunset, and spend a night in a desert camp under the Saharan stars.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas (Tizi n'Tichka) → Aït Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Draa Valley → Zagora Desert Camp (6 Hours Drive / 360 km)

We pick you up at 07:30 AM from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m), enjoying panoramic views over Berber mountain villages.

We visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ksar Aït Benhaddou, followed by lunch in Ouarzazate. In the afternoon, we cross the volcanic Anti-Atlas mountains and drive along the lush palm oasis of the Draa Valley, passing through Agdz. Arrive in Zagora in the late afternoon. Mount your camel for a sunset ride into the desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and listen to Berber drum music around the campfire.

Day 2: Zagora Sunrise → Draa Valley → Agdz → Ouarzazate → High Atlas → Marrakech (6 Hours Drive / 360 km)

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Zagora dunes. After breakfast at the camp, ride your camel back to meet your driver. We begin the return journey through the Draa Valley, stopping in Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah. We cross the High Atlas Mountains once more, arriving back in Marrakech by 06:00 PM with drop-off at your accommodation.
